This report is a compilation of some 44 research institutes throughout Japan. For the purposes of this survey, institutes are divided into those that deal with problems common to advanced industrial societies and those that concentrate on domestic and international economics and international relations.
The volume also includes two appendices: an alphabetical index of research institutes included in the report and a directory with addresses and telephone numbers for each institute.
