Alexis Palmer joined JCIE/USA in September 2024 as Communications Assistant. Previously, she worked at the Consulate General of Japan in New York as a security assistant, where she screened visitors at the reception desk, managed a team of contracted security guards and conducted research into public safety issues in the tri-state area. Before that, Ms. Palmer spent two years teaching English at an elementary school and a junior high school in Tottori Prefecture through the JET Program.

At JCIE/USA, Ms. Palmer assists with the Global Health programs including Friends of the Global Fund, Japan, as well as social media and other communications.

Ms. Palmer grew up in Indiana and obtained a BA in Japanese and an MA in Political Science from Ball State University. She also volunteers with the JET Alumni Association (JETAA) of Chicago as the Marketing Lead and JETAA New York as the New Jersey Subchapter Representative.
