David Monico started his career with JCIE/USA in January 2007 where he assisted in the political exchange programs for US Congressional members and staff to Japan on a yearly basis and also facilitated US corporate philanthropic programs in Japan. He currently assists JCIE with the Healthy & Active Aging in Asia program, website development, social media, and other communications and IT issues.

Mr. Monico graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa as well as Organizational Communcation. At UCSB he also competed for the Track & Field team, earning All Big West honors in 2004. He continues to race occasionally from the Mile to Marathon distances and counts the New York City Marathon as one of his favorite races. Mr. Monico also consults with a variety of nonprofits on media strategy as well as corporate philanthropy. He is fluent in Portuguese and English.
