The JCIE/USA Executive Roundtable is a private discussion series addressing key issues affecting the United States and Japan. The sessions feature leading perspectives from the United States and Japan and take place in an intimate, off-the-record setting where participants can gain insight, raise questions, and exchange ideas with one another. Participants include leaders from the private and public sectors, including our program partners, sponsors, and alumni, and a select group of experts and practitioners who help enrich the conversation.

FGFJ Presents Leadership Awards at Reception to Welcome Global Fund Executive Director Peter Sands
Friends of the Global Fund, Japan hosted a reception on March 4, 2025, on the occasion of Global Fund Executive Director Peter Sands’ first visit to Japan in two years. On this occasion, an awards ceremony was also held to honor Japan’s leadership in fighting the world’s three major infectious diseases, recognizing five individuals and organizations from various sectors.

Global Fund Executive Director Peter Sands Meets with FGFJ Advisory Board During Visit to Japan
On March 4, 2025, Peter Sands, Executive Director of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (The Global Fund), met with FGFJ’s Advisory Board to present the Investment Case for the Global Fund’s 8th Replenishment.

2025 US-Japan Healthy and Resilient Aging Exchange
Five community leaders, mainly from Kanagawa Prefecture, traveled to meet with counterparts in Washington DC and Columbus OH to share best practices and insights into the shared challenge of better coping with aging populations.

The winners of the 4th Healthy Aging Prize for Asian Innovation were celebrated at a ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand.

Trilateral Commission
Founded in 1973, the Trilateral Commission is a nongovernmental forum of leading private citizens from Europe, North America, and Japan (now including all of Asia Pacific) that aims to promote mutual understanding and closer cooperation on common problems facing these three major democratic, industrialized regions of the world.

FGFJ Commemorates World AIDS Day in Joint Diet Task Force and Advisory Board Meeting
FGFJ convened a joint meeting between the Diet Task Force and Advisory Board to commemorate World AIDS Day 2024 and discuss the latest prevention and treatment tools that could end AIDS in Japan and low and middle income countries across the globe.
