US-Japan Legislative Exchanges with the Mt. Fuji Dialogue Delegation

Since 2022, JCIE USA has been helping facilitate legislative exchanges between US members of Congress and the members of The Mt. Fuji Dialogue delegation during the delegation’s annual visit to Washington DC.

The 2025 Mt. Fuji Dialogue delegation included four Diet members: Itsunori Onodera, Member of the House of Representatives, Chairperson of the Policy Research Council of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), and former Defense Minister (2017-2018); Koichiro Gemba, Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives from the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan and former Foreign Minister (2011-2012); Shinjiro Koizumi, Member of the House of Representatives and former Minister of Environment (2019-2021); and Kimi Onoda, Member of the House of Representatives and Vice-Chairperson of the LDP Policy Research Council. The Diet members were accompanied by several experts and industry leaders.
