JCIE held a special symposium at Peking University in Beijing so that China, Japan, and South Korea could share their experiences grappling with environmental problems and discuss strategies for deeper trilateral cooperation.
Tadashi Yamamoto Memorial Seminar | The United States and Japan in Asia

The 2nd Tadashi Yamamoto Memorial Seminar, held in Washington DC by the Council on Foreign Relations and JCIE, brought together nearly 70 foreign policy specialists from the United States, Asia, and Europe to discuss the role of the US-Japan alliance in a changing Asia and the vision that key players hold for the region’s future.
Managing China-Japan-US Relations and Strengthening Trilateral Cooperation | Beijing Workshop

In 2007, JCIE launched a study and dialogue project aimed at developing a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics of the China-Japan-US trilateral relationship. This second workshop took place in Beijing in 2008.
Korea-China-Japan Forum

The Korea-China-Japan Forum was held in November 2003 as a joint initiative of JCIE, the Korea Foundation, the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, and the Japan Foundation Asia Center. This dialogue aimed to promote cooperation among the three countries in achieving stability in the Asia Pacific region and encouraging its further development.
Japanese-German Forum | 21st Forum

The 21st Japanese-German Forum brought 37 participants from the two countries together in Berlin. The discussions focused on the new agenda and policies in each country in the context of their respective shifting political environments, pressing issues and potential areas for Japan-Germany cooperation in regard to energy security and the environment, and new challenges presented by a growing East Asia.
Investing in Healthy and Active Aging for Sustainable Growth—A Regional Approach to Promoting Innovative Long-Term Care

JCIE was among the co-organizers of a multistakeholder forum to address the challenges facing Asia Pacific due to aging populations. The forum drew over 260 people from 27 economies in the region, representing parliamentarians, government officials, and representatives from international organizations, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
East Asia–European Union Think Tank Dialogue

The 9th East Asia-European Union Think Tank Dialogue was held in Tokyo, Japan on October 4–7, 2007, conferred under the theme, “Global Governance in the 21st Century: Common Challenges for East Asia & Europe.”
APAP | Yokohama Forum 1997

The 3rd APAP Forum featured a session on the theme of “Values, Governance, and International Relations,” as well as discussions of Japan’s identity in a changing Asian context, and the research and dialogue agenda that APAP should pursue in the future.
APAP | Tokyo Forum 2005

The Tenth APAP Forum was held on February 25-26, 2005, in Tokyo. Nearly 50 participants from throughout the Asia Pacific region gathered to discuss the theme of “Engaging the United States in an Emerging East Asia Community.”
APAP | Tokyo Forum 1995

The Asia Pacific Agenda Tokyo Forum was held to commemorate JCIE’s 25th anniversary. The forum, attended by more than 150 leading representatives of policy research institutions from Asia, the United States, and Europe, was designed in part to celebrate JCIE’s accomplishments and to consider its future course. It also served as the founding meeting of the Asia Pacific Agenda Project (APAP), a multipronged research and dialogue project aimed at developing an effective collaborative network among policy research institutions in the region.
