Japanese-German Forum | 21st Forum

The 21st Japanese-German Forum brought 37 participants from the two countries together in Berlin. The discussions focused on the new agenda and policies in each country in the context of their respective shifting political environments, pressing issues and potential areas for Japan-Germany cooperation in regard to energy security and the environment, and new challenges presented by a growing East Asia.

Japanese-German Forum | 20th Forum

The 20th Japanese–German Forum was held on October 4–5, 2011, bringing 36 participants from both countries together in Tokyo. During the forum, the participants discussed key issues pertinent to the bilateral relationship.

Strengthening Nongovernmental Contributions to Regional Security Cooperation | Tokyo Workshop

On January 18–19, 2010, the participants gathered in Tokyo for a workshop to discuss initial findings of a project examining (1) the roles of civil society in enhancing regional security cooperation, (2) common features of the roles of civil society beyond the issue areas, and (3) key factors for successes of civil society activities contributing to regional security cooperation.

Japanese-German Forum | 18th Forum

In November 2009, the 18th German-Japan Forum brought together representatives from various fields in both countries to discuss the future of Japan-German relations and the common challenges faced by the two countries.

Managing China-Japan-US Relations and Strengthening Trilateral Cooperation | Honolulu Workshop

In 2007, JCIE launched a study and dialogue project aimed at developing a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics of the China-Japan-US trilateral relationship. The participants met for the third and final workshop in Honolulu on March 12–13, 2009.

UK-Japan 21st Century Group | 25th Conference

Twenty-eight British and Japanese leaders took part in the 25th UK-Japan 21st Century Group forum, which was held in Japan on February 19–22.

Japanese-German Forum | 17th Forum

The 17th Japanese-German Forum was held in Berlin on November 25–26, 2008. The thirty-five participants in the forum gathered to discuss political and economic trends within Japan and Germany and opportunities for closer cooperation between the two countries.

Managing China-Japan-US Relations and Strengthening Trilateral Cooperation | Beijing Workshop

In 2007, JCIE launched a study and dialogue project aimed at developing a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics of the China-Japan-US trilateral relationship. This second workshop took place in Beijing in 2008.

US-Japan-China Trilateral Conference

On January 6–8, 2008, nearly 30 senior policy experts from China, Japan, and the United States gathered in Beijing for the Fourth US-Japan-China Trilateral Conference.

East Asia–European Union Think Tank Dialogue

The 9th East Asia-European Union Think Tank Dialogue was held in Tokyo, Japan on October 4–7, 2007, conferred under the theme, “Global Governance in the 21st Century: Common Challenges for East Asia & Europe.”
