As part of the US-Japan Women Leaders Dialogue, JCIE held a briefing for the women Diet members and other leaders who have participated in our past meetings to shed light on what the outcome of the election means for women and for the bilateral alliance in the coming years.
Diet Women’s Study Group

In 2019, as part of its program on Empowering Women Leaders, JCIE launched a nonpartisan Diet study group to deepen women legislators’ understanding of critical policy challenges. In the initial year, 13 Diet members, chaired by Representative Seiko Noda, are meeting seven times through March 2020, once every month or two, for discussions with leading experts from Japan and abroad.
Empowering Women Leaders Program

JCIE’s Empowering Women Leaders program aims to strengthen the capacity of women leaders to participate in international dialogues, build networks among women leaders, and share lessons on ways to encourage fuller participation by women in the policymaking process.
