Next Steps on UHC—Moving Forward from the G20 and HLM-UHC

JCIE, in cooperation with the UN Foundation, convened a small, high-level roundtable of global health experts and policymakers on the morning after the UN High-Level Meeting on UHC to discuss what the next steps should be to turn the commitments in recent forums into concrete action, maintain momentum in advancing UHC in low- and middle-income countries, and encourage Japan and other countries to continue to lead on the UHC agenda.

Global Health and Human Security | Press Tour to Myanmar

On June 29 to July 5, 2014, JCIE organized a press tour that brought a delegation of journalists from Japan to several locations in Myanmar to examine the country’s development through the lens of the country’s healthcare system as part of JCIE’s Global Health and Human Security Program.

2nd GFF Seminar | The Global Financing Facility in the COVID-19 Crisis

JCIE launched the GFF Seminar series in 2020 as part of its efforts to deepen understanding of how the Japanese government, NGOs, and others can coordinate more effectively with the GFF in order to strengthen maternal and child health and expand universal health coverage in the world’s most vulnerable countries.

A JCIE survey of Japanese legislators finds that 80 percent of the 92 respondents favor steps to increase Japan’s official development assistance (ODA), with most prioritizing funding for health programs and education, followed by water & sanitation projects and humanitarian assistance.

2nd US-Japan Global Health Dialogue | Strengthening Partnership on Global Health

JCIE continued its US-Japan Global Health Dialogue series to explore how the two countries can strengthen bilateral cooperation on health security under the Trump and Abe administrations.
