Facilitating Philanthropy Program
The US-Japan Philanthropy Initiative handles charitable donations from US-based individuals and corporations in the manner of a donor-advised fund, accepting recommendations about organizations the donor prefers to support, then conducting due diligence to decide whether to make a grant to the suggested organization or others that advance the aims of the donation.

Through the US-Japan Philanthropy Initiative, JCIE/USA helps facilitate charitable giving from donors in one country to innovative organizations in the other that are working to improve society and/or strengthen international relations.
APPC Survey: Governance, Organizational Effectiveness and the Nonprofit Sector
The Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium (APPC) was launched in 1994 as an informal network of like-minded institutions that support the growth and development of Asian grantmaking philanthropies. JCIE served as the focal point within Japan for coordinating APPC activities in Japan. It has since been acquired by Give2Asia.
JWLI-JCIE/USA COVID-19 Joint Philanthropic Initiative
JCIE has partnered with the Japanese Women’s Leadership Initiative and the Fish Family Foundation to facilitate small grants to nonprofit organizations in Japan to help them respond to the needs arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Asian Community Trust
Founded in 1979, the Asian Community Trust (ACT) was Japan’s first charitable trust based on general fundraising. It is committed to providing support for grassroots, self-help efforts of nongovernmental organizations involved in sustainable social and economic development across Asia.

The Ajinomoto International Cooperation for “Nutrition and Health” Support Program was a grant program aimed at improving the quality of life of people in developing countries through support for international cooperation activities in local communities in the field of food and nutrition.
COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO
JCIE has teamed up with the UN Foundation and the WHO Foundation as the Japan partner of the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO. This fund enables Japanese companies, organizations, and individuals to donate to support the work of the WHO, CEPI, UNICEF, WFP, and other international organizations in their fight against the pandemic.
Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program
The Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program, an annual international competition, was launched to identify and reward the academic achievement and leadership potential of 100 of the most accomplished students at 54 designated top-ranked universities in 16 countries and regions.
