Vuot Song is a community-based organization located in an area of Ho Chi Minh City where a large population of MSM and IDUs live. A visit to this site provided a unique opportunity for a small group of Japanese Diet members to learn how funds from the Global Fund trickle down to the grassroots level to reach key populations in need.

Bill Gates Meeting with FGFJ Diet Task Force
Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, met with 14 Diet members of the Friends of the Global Fund, Japan (FGFJ), Diet Task Force to discuss the latest accomplishments of the Global Fund and how Japan can play an even greater leadership role in the battle against the three deadly diseases. They were joined by 11 members of the FGFJ Board of Advisors, as well as Global Fund Executive Director Mark Dybul, and other global health leaders.

US-Japan Women Leaders Dialogue
JCIE held the first US-Japan Women Leaders Dialogue to convene top women leaders from varying walks of life in both countries, including four diet members of a Diet delegation traveling to the United States on JCIE’s Parliamentary Exchange Program, as well as Internal Affairs Minister Seiko Noda, the highest-ranking woman presently serving in the Japanese Cabinet.
